Industry Insights: Musicpreneur

The MusicPreneur Speaker series highlights the booming business that drives Nashville’s popular name, “Music City.” The evening will be filled networking and insights from the industry’s thought leaders. Refreshments on us! During the event the EC will reveal the participants in this year’s Project Music program.

On March 6 we’ll “Explore the Music Modernization Act” through the eyes of a songwriter, publisher and lawyer.
We’ll kick off with a briefing about the Act and launch into a panel of Ted Goldthorpe of Sony/ATV (Supervisor, NA Publishing Admin), Jeremy Brook (Member, Brook Law Firm PLLC), Ron Pope (songwriter/independent artist) and moderator Heather McBee (music biz veteran) will share how the act impacts their business and the impact on music biz entrepreneurs.

For those that have questions outside of ec.co/member, this is an opportunity to have a full understanding of the EC, and how to get plugged in. At the Info Session, you can expect us to cover:

  • Overview of EC amenities; Which membership level is best for you?
  • Advisors, education, and community; How do these programs benefit my business?
  • Workshop your idea; Does it have what it takes?

This session is free, but registration is required. Also, we will have our monthly community entrepreneurs happy hour following this info session. We hope you will join us!

Community Happy Hour, presented by Sherrard & Roe, is a networking happy hour event welcoming local creatives, entrepreneurs and leaders to connect and celebrate Nashville’s startup community. Each event will showcase an EC entrepreneur and the EC team will be available to welcome you and answer any questions. Beverages & snacks will be provided!

Prior to the Happy Hour, we will host our monthly EC Info Session from 4:30-5:30 pm, which will give you an opportunity to have a full understanding of the EC and how to get plugged in. PreFlight Session 2 Info Session

Want to build, evaluate, and optimize your entrepreneur ideas? PreFlight is the Nashville Entrepreneur Center's entrepreneurship course for early-stage entrepreneurs.

Join us to learn more about the EC's PreFlight program, with the second session running May 21-August 20. At this event you will have the opportunity to hear from PreFlight alum and the Program Director, John Murdock. If you are on the fence about the program or you've signed up and want to know what you've gotten yourself into, join us for this info session. We'll have a networking period, a panel of alumni and mentors and a chat about what the program involves.

PreFlight is 14-week program designed to empower early-stage entrepreneurs to build, evaluate, and optimize their startup concepts. The program consists of weekly classes on the entrepreneurial process, constant access to related online learning materials and access to the EC advisor program.

On the evening of May 1, entrepreneurs from the class will pitch their business concepts to a panel of judges & a live audience at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. PreFlight 2018: Session Two

PreFlight is the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s premier educational program for entrepreneurs with idea stage startups looking to create a foundation for launching their businesses and receive an expedited evaluation of your idea. The program is open to startups from all industries. Session 2 will run from May 21-August 20.
