PreFlight is the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s premier educational program for entrepreneurs with idea stage startups looking to create a foundation for launching their businesses. The program is open to startups from all industries.

DIVER[C]ITY: Social Entrepreneurship

The Nashville Entrepreneur Center presents the DiverCity Speaker Series, sponsored by the Entrepreneurs' Organization, a quarterly themed event series spotlighting the achievements and stories of female and minority entrepreneurs throughout our booming city of Nashville.

Join us for this quarter's event on the topic of Social Entrepreneurship. After a time of networking, Hannah Pechan, Director of Nashville's chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance, will lead a panel featuring Magut Kipgoskei of Tribe Endurance, Kanitha Pope of #WeMatter, and Tash Weddle of the New Beginnings Center. PreFlight Pitch Day

Join us as we celebrate the entrepreneurs graduating from our summer PreFlight session! On the evening of September 8th, entrepreneurs from the class will pitch their business concepts to a panel of judges and a live audience at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. Join us to watch the pitches, meet the entrepreneurs, and enjoy networking with other really cool people over food and drink. Following is a summary agenda for the evening:

7:00-8:00: Networking/Celebrating

What is PreFlight?
PreFlight is the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s premier educational program for entrepreneur’s with idea stage startups looking to create a foundation for launching their businesses.

PreFlight is for people with an idea or early stage startup that want to explore their concept’s viability and what it takes to be an entrepreneur AND for entrepreneurs with the goal of applying to an accelerator program.

MusicPreneur Session 3: Tech-Yea: How Tech is Changing Access to Music

MusicPreneur is a three part speaker series dedicated to empowering music-minded entrepreneurs and young entertainment professionals to change the future of music through their careers and entrepreneurial endeavors. Each event will explore challenges and opportunities in the music industry through networking time, a panel discussion with Q&A and a “Resource Village” of partners for young professionals and entrepreneurs. MusicPreneur is a partnership between the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s Project Music, YEP (Young Entertainment Professionals) and the Mayor's Music City Music Council.

Session 3 addresses how technology is enabling faster, more frequent releases and enabling more music engagement than ever. Panelists will discuss how they are using tech to break the traditional release model, engage fans and market themselves while challenged by shrinking margins and smaller revenue streams. Lunch & Learn: Raising Capital- How to Find and Be Found by the Right Investors

This program will show Launch and Grow companies how to make your company "discoverable" by investors and how to find angel groups, VC's or Corporate VC's who invest in your stage and type of company. The EC has just subscribed to Pitchbook which is the premier database for finding information on private companies, investors (Angel Groups, VC's, Corporate VC's, PE's), and funding deal information.

We will cover:

  1. Audit of your company's "discoverability"
  2. "Must do" list to prepare for fundraising
  3. Databases and Websites to get your company "on the radar"
  4. Pitchbook - how to use Pitchbook to target the right investors for your company

Bunker Labs Nashville and the Nashville Veteran Entrepreneur Society have joined forces to host a monthly happy hour for America's elite entrepreneurs, it's military veterans. If you have served or are serving, let us toast to you every third Thursday from 6-9pm at the EC as we band together to lead the American economy.

How To Workshop: Digital Marketing

Join us as Alyson Dixson, EC mentor and Director of Client Services at LSM, leads a workshop on digital marketing for your startup.

How To Workshop, sponsored by SMS Holdings is a hands-on training series taught by community mentors in order to help new companies and entrepreneurs learn specific business skills at a high level. This is the most applicable program for entrepreneurs to attend before committing to PreFlight or an industry accelerator. Workshop topics include branding, finance and business development. How To is an onsite EC program occurring every other month.

Sip It: Nashville Conversations is a leadership series in collaboration with alumni entrepreneur, Lily Clayton Hansen, author of Word of Mouth: Nashville Conversations and professional interviewer behind blog, Word Of Mouth Conversations. Each month, we will conduct a conversation with prolific Nashvillians in the art, culinary and music industries handpicked directly from Lily’s book. Each entrepreneur will give insight into creating and growing a unique brand in Nashville as well as the lessons they have learned along the way. Sip It is an onsite EC program occurring each month.
