Lunch & Learn: Building Tech when you’re not a Techxpert: How, What, and With Whom?

Maybe you’re searching for that perfect fit for a CTO, but haven’t found it yet. Maybe your brother-in-law built you a great prototype, but you’re very aware that he is not scalable. Maybe the idea of putting a development team together makes you start to sweat.

This interactive event will offer some insight on how to take on these #startuplife concerns and decide what path is right for you and your product. Questions up for discussion will include:

Is a technical co-founder or a CTO is a “must” or a “nice to have” for your company initially?
Should I hire developers myself or consider working with a third-party partner?
If I do outsource my MVP or basic product, how do I scope the project and evaluate proposals?
What decisions do I make now to ensure my architecture is scaleable and appropriate security is in place?
At what point do I need to bring in a CTO and move the development in-house? How do I evaluate potential CTO candidates?
How do I balance building an in-house team with product revenue/traction?

Speakers are CEO Colin Callahan and CTO Byron Sommardahl of Acklen Avenue, an agile digital product development company based in Nashville and Honduras. Engagement Managers Deanna Vickers, Nathaniel Holzmann, and Jean Lauzon will also be in attendance for further discussions after the presentation.
