Nodat's Business Shower, hosted by The Nashville Entrepreneur Center, brings together a stellar group of founders, investors, and friends to celebrate, support, and honor Aireka Harvell's journey as a startup founder.
What is a business shower?
A business shower is a gift-giving party held for an entrepreneur in celebration of their business. Think baby shower but for businesses!
This event is the first opportunity our community will gather to learn more about Nodat, have an opportunity to ask Aireka questions, and contribute gifts and advice.
Why host a business shower?
By necessity, great entrepreneurs are scrappy and can achieve a lot with very little. Aireka has acquired over 24,000 downloads and 738 local business subscribers in just 18 months!
But it takes money to make money and the lack of funding for early stage startups - especially for Black women - is a real issue. Black women-led startups raise an average of $42,000 compared to the average initial round of funding for all startups which is $1.3 million. That’s a huge deficit and impacts how quickly a startup can grow. The playing field is not level.
Capital is the life-blood of any business and by throwing a business shower, we can rally behind a high-achieving entrepreneur and support her with our time, connections, and gifts so that she has the opportunity to thrive.
I’m in! What can I do?
Attend. Please RSVP to let us know you can make it. If you can’t be there in person we’re also hosting an Ask Me Anything #ama on IGTV. More details to follow.
Contribute. Just like a registry for a baby shower, Aireka is registered at Business Gift Registry where she lists the products and services she needs to take her business to the next level.
More about Nodat from Aireka:
Nodat is an engagement platform designed to help businesses not only get but keep more local customers. Our platform puts the customer to work for the business through incentivized perks for user-generated content creation and customer advocacy.
Our goal over the next 6 months is to build a team of developers who will be responsible for improving our platform by updating features to implement the needs and wants that were mentioned by our current customers and users during market research.
We will continue market research to prove product-market fit and validate our concept by beginning the beta testing of our revenue generating features and building case studies. We will add a marketing strategist to the team to help us to improve our go-to-market strategy, marketing messaging and branding. The goal of bringing on this individual is to increase the number of local businesses using our product to attract new customers and increase repeat revenue from existing customers and to convert 80% of our "free" customers to "paid" customers.
